Every September, in honor of recovery month, the Rochester community joins together to celebrate people living positively in recovery. East House’s annual Hope & Recovery Celebration raises funds for East House programs and services while breaking down stigmas associated with mental health and substance use disorders. Every year, East House presents the James Papero Enrichment Program to encourage East House clients to pursue education or vocational training as a means towards independence and self-sufficiency. Since 1996, this unique program has provided an opportunity to experience classes and life on a local college campus. After attending the Enrichment Program, many attendees enroll in local colleges to earn their degrees or engage in vocational training.
