Our Mission
The mission of East House is to improve
the quality of life of the individuals we serve, who are recovering from
mental illness, chemical dependency or other disabling conditions.
We pursue our mission by providing
residential, rehabilitation, and support services to individuals and
their families.
Our Philosophy
We acknowledge that major mental
illnesses, such as schizophrenia and affective disorders, and chemical
dependency are disabling conditions that affect millions of individuals
and thousands of local residents. Although these conditions are serious,
they can be successfully treated in the majority of cases.
We believe that a key to successful
treatment for individuals is their active involvement in a
rehabilitation program that develops the skills and supports necessary
for successful community living.
We believe that with the active
partnership of East House counselors, family members, and therapists,
individuals with such disabling conditions can lead healthier, more
satisfying and productive lives with a renewed sense of hope, belonging,
and care.
We are committed to providing quality
services that are culturally sensitive and responsive to individual and
community needs.
